Event Description

ESAR Exercise (PAM-0007)

Every day local responders are called to the challenge to assist in finding a lost or missing persons’. Fortunately, through investigation and a coordinated quick search many lost or missing persons’ are located within the first few hours. However, there are times when a search extends for hours, days or even weeks. These type of events requires trained search teams and equipment to operate and manage. This exercise will allow search teams, K-9 handlers and incident management teams to participate in a search exercise which will involve wilderness and water.  The goal for this exercise is to coordinate and manage a multi-operational period event utilizing NIMS and available resources.

This years’ exercise will be held at Camp Seafarer in Pamlico County.  Due to the requirements of the camp there will be no tents or campers allowed.  This site provides housing for its youth and they have agreed to allow us to use the same facilities.

This camp is also home to million dollar race horses.  For this reason there will be no outside equine allowed.
