CapRAC - High Consequence Pathogens Training (CHPR0032)

The National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC) is comprised of faculty and staff from Emory University, the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine and the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, Bellevue Hospital Center. All three of these health care institutions have safely and successfully treated patients with Ebola and have worked diligently to share their knowledge with other health care facilities and public health jurisdictions.

NETEC will be bringing their knowledge and expertise to the CapRAC region to provide the following education:

  • Pathogens of Concern - A review of special pathogens
  • Team Resilience - Strategies for building and strengthening team resilience
  • Lessons Learned - A discussion on the experiences and lessons learned from Georgia, Nebraska and New York in the care of patients with Ebola Virus
  • Waste Management - Provides information on waste handling, defines category A waste and methods for deactivating waste

Target Audience:  CapRAC Healthcare Coalition Stakeholders - hospitals, EMS agencies, local public health agencies, community health centers, urgent care and primary care, continuing care agencies, emergency management agencies
