Hospital Evacuation: Principles and Practices (SMRS0036)

Hospital Evacuation is a 4-hour course outlining the planning process for developing healthcare facility evacuation plans. It provides hospitals of all sizes with tools helpful to build their Shelter in Place, Partial Evacuation, and/or Complete Evacuation plans. 

  • Developing an evacuation plan
    • Hazard vulnerability analysis, community  partner integration and mitigation
  • Implementing an facility’s plan
    • Potential triggers, deciding to  shelter-in-place  or evacuate, actual evacuation, recovery
  • Introduction to equipment commonly used in the evacuation process
