Local Health Department Epi Team Training (PHPR-003)

NC Division of Public Health's Epidemiology Section is conducting scenario-based workshops for local health department Epidemiology (Epi) Teams to explore the team's role during a public health emergency. As a result of the training, Epi Team members will discuss the structure and purpose of epi teams during both public health response and non-response situations, identify key functions of epi teams in various response situations, and communicate necessary partnerships and resources for effective epi team response.

The target audience for this workshop is local health department Epi Teams. Epi Teams consist of local health department staff and epi partners, including but not limited to: Preparedness Coordinators, Health Directors, Public Health/Communicable Disease Nurses, Environmental Health Specialists, Public Information Officer (PIO), Health Educator/Community Health Staff, Administrative, Laboratorian, IT staff, and Hospital-based Public Health Epidemiologists (up to 5 people per agency should attend).

3.25 contact hours * Attendance at 100% of the educational activity and completion of an evaluation are required to obtain CNE. / Continuing education credit will be provided through the Public Health Nursing and Professional Development (PHNPD) Unit. / The Public Health Nursing and Professional Development Unit, North Carolina Division of Public Health, is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. / The presenters and planning committee members have no conflicts of interest to disclose.
