Event Description

Critical Incident Stress Management (NC- CISM)

This program is designed to benefit fire, rescue, EMS, law enforcement, telecommunications, mental health professionals, MSW's, chaplains, supervisory staff, administrators, and other emergency services personnel who may be called upon to provide support for people who have been affected by a traumatic event in the course of their duties. Since families are an important part of the lives of emergency services workers, so are they an important factor in critical incident stress management. Spouses are invited to participate in the program to gain an understanding of critical incident stress, its effect on loved ones and the family, its management, and to promote interest and involvement in spousal/family support programs.
